Wax for end grain sealing

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The product is designed for sealing board ends to protect them from cracking and moisture. The wax prevents water from penetrating the wood while allowing it to breathe naturally. It also reduces resin leakage from the end grain. The product is transparent, making it suitable for universal use.

RECOMMENDED USE
Can be used for the end grain of terraces, soffits, roof decking, cladding boards, and other construction wood. Suitable for hardwood, softwood, and exotic woods (e.g., Bangkirai, Massaranduba, Cumaru, Jatoba, etc.).

SURFACE PREPARATION
The wooden surface must be clean, dry, and not frozen (moisture content no more than 20%). Osmo End Grain Sealing Wax is ready to use—do not dilute. Stir well before use. The final appearance depends on the wood’s characteristics. We recommend testing the product on a sample to ensure the desired result is achieved.

APPLICATION METHODS
Apply generously to board ends using a bristle brush. For optimal protection on highly absorbent end grains, apply the sealing wax twice—either wet-on-wet or the second coat after the first has dried.

DRYING TIME
Dries in approximately 3–4 hours under normal conditions (23°C and 50% relative humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity may significantly extend drying time. Ensure good ventilation throughout the drying process.

COVERAGE
1 liter covers approximately 5 m² in one coat. For comparison, 1 liter treats about 600 decking boards on both ends. Coverage depends on wood type and surface condition. All information refers to smooth and planed/sanded wood surfaces. Other surface types may significantly reduce coverage.

NOTE
Use only for end grain sealing. Do not apply to large surfaces. Wipe off excess from adjacent areas with a cloth. The product enhances the natural wood tone (creates a wet look). Once dry, we recommend treating other areas with decking oil.
